The Professional Resource Network (PRN) provides no-fee workshops, access to computers, copiers, and other resources to help with your professional job search. Members meet in an office-like atmosphere allowing each person to stay connected and active during what can otherwise be a lonely and difficult time. Members are able to share job leads, contacts, and contribute to the direction of the group. Each member volunteers a minimum of 16 hours per month with credit given for attending the weekly general and departmental meeting.  Member also receive a free listing in the PRN on-line database which employer can search when looking for new employees.

Members who become employed  are asked to complete a Status Change Form that allows them to become informational contacts and job referrals for current PRN members.  

Through no-fee workshops members are able to:

  • update and improve their skills in writing resumes and cover letters
  • participate in practice interview sessions to gain confidence for the real thing
  • create and practice 30 second and 60 second introductions of themselves
  • learn the art of salary negotiation
  • learn about effective and economical self care

Volunteer Opportunities

  • front desk and telephone coverage
  • making presentations to local organizations
  • meeting with other members to provide peer coaching and resume reviews
  • facilitating workshops
  • running PRN departments.
